Official opening of Patchwork Plus at the Courtyard Gallery in Midleton, Co. Cork
Friday 2nd May 2010 @ 7.30pm
I have been busy in the last few weeks setting up a Patchwork Shop in the Courtyard Gallery in Midleton.
The Courtyard Gallery is just off the Main Street and it incorporates a fabulous resturant, Sage, Crafty Hands Pottery Studio, Silverstone Dimensions Jewelery, Midleton Antiques Loft and an Art Gallery, and now a Patchwork Shop!
It is open 6 days a week 10am – 5.30pm.

Patchwork Plus at the Courtyard Gallery
For one week only i am taking over the gallery space and displaying some beautiful quilts made by my customers and friends. Its a great excuse to gather enthusiastic quilters together, offering lots of ideas and inspiration to each other and to see who would like to give it a try.
The Courtyard also has a workshop space which i use to teach a class on Friday mornings. I’m hoping to expand by offering an evening class come the autumn and having a full and varied programme of one day and half day workshops to suit the beginner and experienced quilter.

The Courtyard Gallery
The shop will stock all the supplies that you require to make a quit – The fabrics, wadding, notions and patterns.
How to find the Courtyard Gallery
The following prints from Hoffman are part of their Challenge fabrics for 2010. I couldn’t resist them and i hope you like them too. Im in the process of doing a ‘Feathered Star’ a workshop i took with Robyn Fahy at the Quilters Guild of Ireland Retreat held in Kilarney.
2010 has brought many exciting developments to my business Patchworkplus.
I took the plunge and bought myself a Home Pro Gammill Long arm machine. The bad weather over christmas meant i had plenty of time to play with my new toy. I have lots and lots of quilt tops to practice on so it will keep my busy for a while. I will keep you posted on my progress

I have completed my first pantograph on my squares in a square jelly roll quilt using Kim Kame fabrics from Japan. I love their subtle colours.

I am also very busy preparing to go to An Grianan, a retreat for quilters organised by the Irish Patchwork Society. I will be running a class on hand applique using hand dyed fabrics.

I have just had my January sale which was very successful, the weather was kind, which brought out lots of enthusiastic quilters looking for a bargain and a chance to catch up with quilting buddies.
During the week i had a delivery of absolutely fabulous fabrics for children from Spectrix fabrics, the colours are a little bit different and would appeal to children of all ages. I am looking forward to putting them together in some project.

The collection includes panels to create a full cloth book for your child.
